In your opinion: What makes a wedding black tie?

Planning our wedding and we want it to be black tie. I have been to some black tie and some not black tie weddings but wanted your opinions on what you think constitutes a black tie wedding. Some background:Our wedding is fall 2018. Ceremony starts at 6pm. Located in the southeast so sun will set around 7:30pm at that time. Venue is a ballroom venue space. Big chandelier and flooring is hardwoods We will have an open bar with liquor (best package the space could offer, think Ketel instead of grey goose but assortment of liquors and prosecco) Plated dinner Gold chiavari chairs Small guest count (<100) Hoping to get a live band, still working through details on that. What else makes or breaks a black tie wedding in your opinion? I'm not a stationary person so wasn't going to do hand calligraphy and thought about using an online service like minted but wasn't sure how it'd be taken? Overall my family and friends attending are super chill and I just wanted an excuse to have all my friends dress up and have an elegant affair. via /r/weddingplanning http://ift.tt/2u6T0IA
