Unexpected dad comments!

So my parents are separated, but my mom will randomly text my dad things about the wedding. I went dress shopping for the first time last week and my mom sent him a few pics of various dresses (a wide range of styles since it was my first time). I just saw him yesterday and without any warning, he whipped out his phone and felt the need to critique every single one to the tune of "This one is horrible," (to my favorite one of the day) "This one makes you look big," & "Are you trying to look like Kim Kardashian??" -- just because it was a mermaid?? He is paying for the dress but I never expected criticism about it from my father, so this really threw me for a loop! Meanwhile my extremely-opinionated entourage (mom, FMIL, MOH) were all well behaved and positive.Has anyone else's dad/stepdad/FFIL made comments that totally took you by surprise? via /r/weddingplanning http://ift.tt/2t6qhz3
