Father as minister. Is that different?

Hello from the groom! My father is an ordained minister and i thought it would be nice and cost effective to have him be there on our special day. The bride doesn't necessarily think that way. Problem is we aren't tied down to any church and I dont want us to hire someone who has no sentimental attachment to us and will pretty much give an average speech.
